Join Scheck & Siress in support of the Department of Defense Warrior Games!
The Department of the Navy, in partnership with the City of Chicago, hosted the annual DoD Warrior Games in Chicago from June 30 – July 8, 2017.
Scheck & Siress had over 50 employee volunteers during the 10-day event supporting the athletes by assisting with adjustments and repairs to their prosthetic and orthotic devices and their wheelchairs to make sure they were able to give their best in each and every competition. Spectators at the games were treated to excellent competition that was both entertaining and inspiring.
The Warrior Games serves as the sole opportunity every year to bring together post-9/11 wounded warriors across all services. The Games honor and showcase the power and resiliency of wounded warriors and their families.
ESPN did a fantastic feature on the 2017 Warrior Games and featured several staff members from Scheck and Siress.
With downtown Chicago as the backdrop, the Warrior Games empowered, encouraged, and educated everyone they touched. Military service teams competed in eight individual and team sports, including archery, cycling, field, sitting volleyball, shooting, swimming, track, and wheelchair basketball.
Tim Russo, CPO, lead the volunteer effort on behalf of Scheck & Siress.
“It was amazing to see the competitive warrior spirit on display throughout the games. It was an honor to be part of the event, having a small part in keeping the athletes performing at their maximum potential”, said Russo.
Scheck and Siress is committed to supporting wounded, ill and injured services members competing at Warrior Games. Scheck and Siress provided services throughout the entire 9 day sporting event. We will continue to provide support for athletes in future Warrior Games.
We hope that you’ll be able to join us in celebrating this year’s Warrior Games and support this event in the future!
