Orthotics – Lower Extremity

At Scheck & Siress, excellent patient care is a company priority. Our team is made up of highly experienced professionals who have the skills to provide effective orthotic solutions for you. Our team of practitioners is continually working to advance that care through research and education.

Scheck & Siress helps to train Physical Medicine and Rehab Physicians in coordination with RUSH University Medical Center, Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital, and Loyola University Medical Center. Graduates of our program now practice medicine across the United States. We also lead research studies that challenge the status quo and confirm better ways of helping people move more comfortably through advanced orthotic and prosthetic technology and materials.

Foot, Ankle, Knee and Hip Braces

clear ankle foot orthosis

Ankle Foot Orthosis (AFO)

Our AFOs will be made in molded plastic or a variety of other materials. Straps, joints, springs and other modifications improve the function of many AFOs.

carbon fiber ankle brace

Carbon Fiber in Braces

Carbon Fiber is extremely light weight and strong. It can be used instead of plastic in ankle foot braces and other orthotic and prosthetic devices. Carbon Fiber even springs back when pushed, so it can offer some energy return for the AFO user.

FES for foot drop

FES for Foot Drop

For people who have Cerebral Palsy, MS or who suffered a stroke, traumatic brain injury or spinal cord injury, Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) may be a solution to foot drop. We offer free appointments for people who want to know if FES will work for them. Just call!
