Jason Wening is an American Board Certified, Illinois State Licensed Prosthetist and Orthotist, and Fellow of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists. He completed his Prosthetics and Orthotics training at Northwestern University, and joined Scheck and Siress is 2005. Jason has given numerous presentations at regional and national conferences, and was awarded the Tharnhardt Lecture at the 2008 American Academy of Orthotics and Prosthetics Annual Meeting. He serves as Clinical Research Director and Residency Director at Scheck and Siress.
Jason brings a unique perspective to patient care. He is both a bilateral amputee and biomechanist. Jason is constantly attempting to combine his personal understanding of wearing prosthetic device with his knowledge of human movement and biomechanics to provide devices that meet the unique needs of individual patients.
Jason also swam in three Paralympic Games (1992, 1996, & 2000) winning five Gold and one Bronze medal. His world record in the 1500 meter Freestyle, set in 2000, still stands. These days he runs for exercise and when possible he competes with the Chicago Blade Runners.
