Tom earned his BS in Prosthetics and Orthotics from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland with First Class Honors. Tom is an American Board Certified Prosthetist. He is also an Illinois Licensed Prosthetist.
Tom has over 13 years of experience in prosthetics with particular expertise in trans-femoral socket design and lower limb prosthetics. Tom began his career at King’s College Hospital in London, England where he managed a prosthetic clinic for lower limb and pediatric care. Tom then moved to the US and worked as a prosthetist and clinic manager for Hanger O&P in Chicago.
After that, Tom cared for patients at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Silver Spring, Maryland. At Walter Reed, Tom applied advanced prosthetic technologies including microprocessor driven components and specialized materials for running prostheses. He also presented educational seminars for the medical professionals at Walter Reed and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Most recently, Tom worked at Keller O&P in Chicago as a prosthetist.
Tom enjoys golfing, scuba diving and surfing, as well as spending time with his wife in the city.
