American Board Certified Prosthetist & Orthotist
Illinois Licensed Prosthetist & Orthotist
Heather is an American Board Certified and Illinois Licensed Prosthetist and Orthotist since 2018 and has been involved with patient care at Scheck and Siress since 2017.
Heather completed her undergraduate studies in 2013 receiving a B.S. in Exercise Physiology from Kent State University. During her studies, she developed an interest for pathophysiology and its relationship to disease progression. With an initial pursuit towards physical therapy, she spent extensive time volunteering with specialized disciplines at the Cleveland Clinic in 2012.
This interest for rehabilitation led to her discovery of the positive impact of prosthetics and orthotics. She completed her Master’s degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics from Northwestern University in 2015.
She went on to complete her prosthetic residency with the Department of Veteran Affairs at Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital in Hines, IL and her orthotic residency at the Center for Orthotic and Prosthetic Excellence in Munster, Indiana. Her passions are prosthetic management, adult neuromuscular pathologies, and pathological gait.
Outside of the office, Heather loves exercise, cooking, and greyhounds. She enjoys yoga, cycling, hiking, and camping. While living in downtown Chicago, she loves trying new restaurants, catching live music, and being anywhere with a great view of Lake Michigan. She is also a member of the Junior League of Chicago, which is a women’s non-profit volunteer organization whose focus is supporting Chicago’s at-risk families and children.
