Julie is an American Board Certified and Illinois Licensed Prosthetist who works with upper and lower extremity amputees in Scheck & Siress’ Oak Park office.
Julie received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from Purdue University and a Master of Arts Degree in Education from DePaul University. She received her Prosthetic education from Northwestern University. She frequently lectures on Prosthetics to local physical therapists and physicians.
Julie specializes in upper extremity pediatric prosthetics at the Oak Park office.
She is also highly experienced in:
– computerized knees, such as the Otto Bock C-leg, Endolite Orion, Ossur Rheo.
– vacuum assisted socket technology
– upper extremity adult and pediatric prosthetics, both conventional and myoelectric, such as the i-limb.
-cosmetic restoration for a lifelike appearance
Julie was recognized as a resident for her research project, “Safety in the Prosthetics Workplace.” Concepts from this study are still used as lessons in orthotic and prosthetic programs throughout the country.
Aside from providing services in the Chicago area, Julie has volunteered her time and clinical skills in Guatemala with the Range of Motion Project (ROMP), providing prosthetic care and education to those in need.
Juile is a member of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists and its Midwest Chapter.
