Angela Bauer, CPO / LPO
American Board Certified Prosthetist & Orthotist
Angela is an American Board Certified and Illinois Licensed Prosthetist & Orthotist caring for patients at Scheck and Siress since 2004. She is the lab manager at the Skokie office.
Angela provides prosthetic and orthotic care at the Skokie office for adult and pediatric patients and also attends several clinics in the area. She specializes in pediatric orthotics, including cranial remolding helmets and conservative scoliosis treatment using computer aided design.
Angela has been conducting orthotic and prosthetic research throughout her career with a focus on improving gait. Her research has covered areas such as determining the benefits of orthotic devices and how different prosthetic components can impact an amputee’s ability to ambulate. She has presented her research at several national conferences, and her prosthetic research was published in the Journal of Rehabilitation Research & Development in 2014. Angela also frequently lectures to healthcare professionals on various industry topics.
Angela is a member of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists and its Midwest Chapter. She was awarded their Gunther Gehl Scholarship for her work in prosthetic research in 2013 and she had previously won this award in 2007 for her orthotic research.
Angela graduated from University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. She received her Orthotic and Prosthetic education from Northwestern University in Chicago.
Outside of the office, Angela enjoys attending Adaptive Adventures events. She has also traveled to Guatemala multiple times to do humanitarian work in prosthetics and orthotics with ROMP Global.
