Our work with Shriners Hospital for Children in Chicago
Since its inception in 1953, caring for the prosthetic and orthotic needs of our patients has been our number one focus at Scheck & Siress.
For 25 years, Scheck and Siress has provided the prosthetic care for Shriners Hospital for Children in Chicago. During our collaboration with Shriners Hospital, we have treated children with all types of congenital anomalies as well as amputations due to disease, and trauma including Fibular Hemimelia, Tibial Hemimelia, Proximal Femoral Focal Deficiency (PFFD), Van Nes Rotationplasty, Constriction Bands, and Congenital Below Elbow Deficiency.
Because of the unique connection between the child and their prosthetist over years of care, we often continue to work with our Shriners patients as adults after their discharge from Shriners upon their 18th birthday. Choosing Scheck & Siress as the pediatric prosthetic provider for your child ensures that continuity of care throughout your child’s lifetime.
Providing the right prosthetic limb for the needs and activity level in pediatric amputees is truly a specialty. When your child needs a prosthetic device, you want a specialist who has not only the technical experience, but also the ability to communicate and connect with your child.
We have 15 locations in the Chicago area and a team of clinicians with decades of experience in prosthetic care for children and their special needs. With a variety of office locations and convenient day and evening hours, we make it easy to get the best prosthetic care for you child.
