Harriet Cavanah Dart is the Certified Pedorthist in the Bannockburn and Evanston offices.
A Certified Pedorthist, or C. Ped, is a specialist who by education and examination meets the criteria established by the Board for Certification in Pedorthics [BCP], since merged with the American Board of Certification.
Mrs. Dart received her pedorthic education at Northwestern University Prosthetic-Orthotic Center and studied with Dr. Paul Brand at the Hansen’s Disease Center in Carville, LA. Harriet has over 30 years of experience in the field of therapeutic footwear.
Mrs. Dart has served on the Board of Directors of the Pedorthic Footwear Association [PFA] and is the immediate past president of the Pedorthic Footwear Foundation. In 2002, Harriet was awarded the Seymour Lefton Award, PFA’s most prestigious honor and was selected among the “Prominent Women in O & P” by O & P Almanac, March 2003.
As adjunct faculty at Northwestern University Prosthetic-Orthotic Center, she has authored several articles in professional journals and a chapter in the first pedorthic textbook: Introduction to Pedorthics. Harriet holds a Bachelor of Arts in the Teaching of History, University of Illinois, Urbana and a Master of Divinity, Chicago Theological Seminary. |
