David Speers is an American Board Certified and Illinois Licensed Orthotist and Prosthetist. David is the laboratory manager working in the Scheck & Siress Schaumburg office. He frequently lectures to different healthcare professionals, including: the physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians at Rush University Medical Center, Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital, the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists and its Midwest Chapter. David also attends numerous pediatric clinics and is part of the professional team which includes physicians and therapists.
After receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Illinois in Champaign (Illinois), and his orthotic and prosthetic training from Northwestern University, David began working at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
David was published in the September 2001 issue of the Journal of Prosthetics and Orthotics. His article, entitled “Necrotizing Fasciitis: an Overview”, discusses the special needs of the orthotic patient with this condition.
In addition, David is an active member of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists and its Midwest Chapter and a member of the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy & Developmental Medicine. |
