David is an American Board Certified and Illinois Licensed Prosthetist, Orthotist and Pedorthist with over 15 years of experience. He is the laboratory manager and senior prosthetist for the Scheck and Siress office at the University of Illinois Medical Center. David is also the orthotic and prosthetic director of Scheck & Siress’ residency program.
In addition to his responsibilities in the office, David regularly attends the pediatric prosthetic clinic at Shriners Hospital for Children.
David is the director of the Scheck & Siress educational lecture series for the University of Illinois Orthopedic Surgical Residency program and is responsible for lecturing and providing all the course work for the DPT (Doctor of Physical Therapy) program at the University of Illinois. He lectures extensively to the physical medicine and rehabilitation residents for Rush, Marianjoy and Loyola hospitals. He is also an adjunct professor at Northwestern University where he has taught the upper extremity prosthetic course for physicians for over seven years.
David specializes in upper extremity prosthetics and has extensive experience in both pediatric and adult management. He has also presented unique orthotic and prosthetic concepts and instructional course work at national and regional meetings on numerous occasions. David has been featured on PBS and CBS news where his patients have been profiled.
David is on the board of directors for the Association of Children’s Orthotic and Prosthetic Clinics. He is also an active member of the Illinois society of Orthotists, Prosthetists and Pedorthists as well as the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists and its Midwest chapter.
David received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Baruch College and his orthotic and prosthetic education from Northwestern University. |
