Roger Ebert's New Facial Prosthesis
What could be more personal, more important to your own identity than your face? Recently, Scheck & Siress Prosthetist David Rotter had the opportunity to restore the appearance of film critic Roger Ebert's face. Ebert describes the process in his Chicago Sun Times blog here, http://blogs.suntimes.com/ebert/2010/05/putting_a_better_face_on_thing.html Ebert had his jawbone removed in cancer surgery and now lives cancer-free. Unfortunately, subsequent cosmetic surgeries failed and his face lacks support and its former shape. Rotter, with the artistic skill of Anaplastologist Julie Jordan Brown, has created a supportive, protective and cosmetic prosthesis for Ebert's chin and jaw area. What an honor to work with such a respected, dynamic leader in journalism and film! |
